Watch the zany preview of the new TV reality show starring the Osbournes ! ——— [FEB 2009]

If you can stomach it, check out the sneak preview of Osbournes: Reloaded, the Osbourne familys return to television. Instead of showing the fascinating inner-workings of rocks most bizarre family like MTVs The Osbournes, this time Ozzy, Sharon, Jack and Kelly are the hosts of their own variety show, a mix of pranks, comedy skits and musical performances with hopefully lots and lots of commercials in between.

We dont watch Howie Mandels prank show Howie Do It, but we imagine its probably similar to this Osbourne debacle. In one sketch, Ozzy Osbourne plays the role of manning the drive-thru window at a fast food burger joint. Hilarity ensues as Ozzy curses at the customers and throws French fries into one customers rolled-down window. Then theres the skit with one male audience member being tricked into making out with a grandmother for $100. Other gags include child versions of Ozzy and Sharon trying to buy movie tickets and cussing, something having to do with a wedding and a foam hose and much more shenanigans.

The Osbournes are back, and television may never be the same again, a commercial voice says after footage of the family visiting other like-named Osbourne families across the country. If there is consolation in this, its that Ozzy takes the stage at some point and sings Black Sabbath Vol. 4s Changes. It serves as a reminder that, in another life, Ozzy Osbourne once helped produce Master of Reality. Now hes just responsible for bad reality television. A three-minute preview of “Osbournes: Reloaded”, the new Fox variety-style show starring Ozzy Osbourne, his wife/manager Sharon and their children Jack and Kelly, is available here.

According to The Week, the first six episodes include “a blindfolded audience member duped into kissing a grandmother, a visit from Pam Anderson (complete with wardrobe malfunction) and “Candid Camera”-style video of The Prince of Darkness slinging burgers at a fast-food drive-through.

“We are letting them go as far as they can. They are raunchy and funny and also a warm, real family,” Mike Darnell, president of alternative entertainment on the Fox network, told reporters last month.

“It is family viewing. We might have a few old age pensioners being kissed, and stripping grandmas, but it is all good clean fun. There is nothing mean-spirited about it,” Darnell said.

“The word ‘variety’ frightens us. No disrespect to other variety shows of the past. It’s just not what we do. We’re not going to be Sonny and Cher-ing it,” Kelly Osbourne said.

Asked why he had agreed to do the new show, Ozzy told Billboard.com, “I’m willing to try anything once … We are a very dysfunctional family, doing a very dysfunctional show.” As for how he had changed since doing “The Osbournes” ended in 2006, he replied, “I put a new suit on this morning”

“Osbournes: Reloaded” is due to air later this spring; an exact date has not been set.

Only six episodes have been shot. Producers said they would wait and see how the show was received before making any more.

Ozzy told The Pulse of Radio in 2007 that following the completion of “The Osbournes”, he wasn’t interested in doing another TV show right away. “‘The Osbournes’ was like an experiment that went way over what I ever expected it to do,” he said. “Sharon and I have been offered so much TV stuff, but I can’t stand it, you know.
